Jacob W. Fingar, of Auburn, was in Albion the other day and accused
Richard B. Parker of being an accomplice in a burglary. Parker had him arrested for slander, and he was held in $1,500 bail. -

Jacob W. Fingar has brought a suit for slander against
Harriet J. Ward, a clairvoyant living in East Washington street. He alleges that the defendant charged him with being the cause of her husband's illness, which resulted fatally, and with having swindled her out of thirty-six dollars. The defence is a general denial with a statement that all Mrs. Ward did was to state what she believed to be the facts. -

He applied for a disability pension, citing blindness, on July 1, 1891. On this application he is described as 5' 11½", light complexion, brown hair and blue eyes.

Found him on the 1892 Syracuse Ward 8, Onondaga, New York census (E.D.01 img 15) as
Jacob Fingar age 63, editor. Also in his household is his adopted daughter
Mertie Fingar age 11.
Found him in the 1895 Syracuse, New York city directory as
Jacob W. Fingar and he is in the insurance business with his brother
Peter. A bold print ad says: 'Fingar J.W. & P.R. insurance agents.'
