Found him on the 1940 Tivoli, Dutchess, New York census (dist 14-97 img 14) as
Harper Fingar age 65, painter, building construction. He is single and living alone.
Harper W. Fingar, 91, of Tivoli, died at Northern Dutchess hospital, Rhinebeck, January 15. Born in August, 1874, and a native of Tivoli, he was the son of the late Peter W. Fingar and Mary Fraleigh Fingar. Mr. Harper, single, and retired, was a member of St. Paul's and Trinity Parish, Tivoli. There are no known survivors. Funeral services were held from the Hand Funeral Home, Red Hook, Tuesday, January 18 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Richard H. Rogers, officiating. Interment was in Red Church cemetery, Tivoli. The Rhinebeck Gazette January 20, 1966
