RED HOOK - Clyde L. Fingar, 72, a resident of Red Hook, died Oct. 17, 1997 at home. He was a self-employed carpenter for more than 40 years in the Red Hook area.
Mr. Fingar was a member of the Elizaville Methodist Church, where he was president of the administrative board and the church's trustees. He was a 49-year member of Widow's Son Masonic Lodge No. 335 of Livingston.
Born Feb. 21, 1925 in Gallatin, he was a son of Morton L. and Hazel Tripp Fingar. He married Shirley Jennings on March 18, 1950 in Rhinebeck. Mrs. Fingar survives at home. In addition to his wife, Mr. Fingar is survived by a son, Terry Fingar of Elizaville two daughters, Carol Clements of Elizaville and June Johnson of Red Hook, a brother, Glenn Fingar of Craryville, six grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. A sister, Doris Fingar, died previously.
Arrangements were made by Yadack-Fox Funeral home Germantown. Services were held at the funeral home with the Revs. Fred C. Cartier and Roger Leonard officiating. In addition, Widow's Son Masonic Lodge conducted services. Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook. The Register Herald October 23, 1997
